Ingredients

  • For the Shrimp
  • 1 lb about 450g large shrimp, peeled and deveined, tails on or off
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Cooking spray
  • 2 tablespoons buffalo hot sauce for tossing after cooking
  • For the Buffalo Aioli
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons buffalo hot sauce
  • 1 small garlic clove finely minced or grated
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice

Method

  1. Whisk together the mayonnaise, buffalo hot sauce, garlic, and lemon juice. Refrigerate while you make the shrimp.
  2. Pat the shrimp completely dry with paper towels.
  3. Combine the flour, garlic powder, paprika, and salt in one bowl. Place beaten eggs in a second bowl and panko in a third.
  4. Dredge each shrimp in the flour, then egg, then panko, pressing gently so the crumbs stick.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C). Spray the basket lightly with cooking spray.
  6. Arrange the shrimp in a single layer, without crowding. Spray the tops lightly.
  7. Air fry 8 to 10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crisp.
  8. Toss with buffalo sauce or serve it on the side. Serve immediately with the buffalo aioli.
